Testing theoretical probability

In math we learn't about theoretical probabilities. We used dice to measure the probabilities of how many times the numbers on the dice will come up. As you can see in the photo we used a chart to figure out if those numbers will match our theories.

Double line graphs

Today for maths, we had to draw double line graphs. To do this ,we were given information about Auckland's average temperatures, with this we put months along the x-axis and put the temperature degrees on the y-axis. We gave the line graph a title and drew dots above the months, lining them up with the degrees. Then we connected the dots and used different lines for the high and low temperature and did keys to show which degrees were the highs and the lows.

Double stem & leaf graphs

For math, we learned to create double stem & leaf graphs and analyse it. It showed that the year 8s scores were a bit better than the year 7s. Then i created some questions about my stem & leaf graphs.

Making inferences to understand unknown words

Today for reading, we had to use our prior knowledge and read between the lines to find out what is the meaning of the words we don't know.First we read a text and underlined the words we don't know. Then we had to look for clues to figure out what the meaning of the word is, then write words with similar meaning and  search for what the actual meaning of the word is.

Double column chart

Today we learned how to record the data we collected on our frequency table on to  double column charts. We had to write the frequency numbers on the y-axis and on the x-axis, I wrote the amount of siblings the students in room 8 have. We then graphed down the data we collected in our frequency tables onto our double column graphs.

Inference chart

This week for reading, we learned how to look for clues to find out what the author is saying about the main character. Then we had to write down what we inferred about the main character.

My opinion on brain control implants

For reading, I had to read an article that was about a brain control chip that'll be used or is used in an Australian hospital. Then we had to find the main text and form an opinion of it.
